THE CHALLENGE

Livic Underground Constructions faced a complex challenge: We had to install a 300-metre-long drainage pipe through a confined 900mm space running alongside a transmission water main and several property structures.

The task demanded precision to avoid damaging the water main and nearby properties, including houses and fences, making traditional trenching methods unfeasible due to the need for engineered supports and the risk to structural integrity.

OUR SOLUTION

To address this challenge, our team devised a detailed bore profile design. This approach involved precision pilot boring to ensure the drainage pipe was centrally placed within the tight narrow corridor, maintaining a 50mm clearance from both the sheet piles and property foundations.

Our innovative solution allowed for an 800mm ream, perfectly fitting within the narrow space without compromising the surrounding infrastructure.

THE RESULTS

The project concluded successfully, with the drainage conduit installed accurately within the specified parameters, budget and timeframe.

Our collaboration with the water authority throughout the process led to their high satisfaction with our performance. Moreover, our strategic planning, design, and execution generated significant cost savings, exceeding half a million dollars, showcasing our ability to deliver efficient, innovative solutions under challenging conditions.
